HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Today my baby girl turns 30.
I cant believe it, it has gone so fast, yet seems like yesterday, the midwife said to me. "There's nothing nicer than a Christmas baby".

It has been a pleasure being her mum for 30 years.
Here's to the next 30 Laura, then you will have caught me up...

10.10.10

How cool is that date? That is the date my little Grandson was christened.
He had his first birthday a couple of days before and then we went to his Christening.

I was a bit unsure I would make it. I pulled my back quite badly on Tuesday and it hurt a lot. But I managed to get there. Strapped into a back support, which meant a change to the outfit I was going to wear. But anyway I got there.

It was a nice afternoon. The vicar was a bit strange but nice. Harry was very well behaved.
He looked around in interest seeming to follow the service. When we went to the font, he seemed to like the water being splashed upon him. My two daughters were God mothers to him as they are to his big sister. They looked very nice. Sadly they chose non "sensible" shoes and their feet were killing them by the end of the day.

After the service we went to a hall and had food and drinks. There was a bouncy castle for the kids who were there to help Harry celebrate his birthday. Little as he is, he enjoyed it too. I think he had a really good time. As for his sister, she had school friends there so we hardly saw her. My son and his wife had made him a splendid Mickey Mouse cake for his Birthday. His eyes lit up when he saw it...

Today we have all been recovering from the standing and carrying Harry around. He is no lightweight. Next week end we celebrate Charlotte's birthday.
Before that sadly I have my cousin's funeral to attend.
All human life is here for me this week.

My cousin died.

I am an only child, he grew up with me, he was like my brother.
I spoke with him last week, he was coming to see me when he got back from a short holiday in Cyprus. He flew out Wednesday and died Thursday morning. Two heart attacks.
I wonder if the flight was too much for him, he had emphysema.

Michael you died on Mum and Dad's Anniversary.
It will have a mixed feeling for me in future.

I am going to miss you such a lot.
The only person left alive who really knew me.
I was so looking forward to seeing you.

RIP Michael.

39th Wedding Anniversary

Today John and I have been married 39 years. Where did the time go?
We were planning a brief trip to visit my friend who has Parkinson's but my head had other ideas.

All packed and ready and tried for 3 days, but it just wasn't to be.
That was going to be culminating in a bit of a break for the anniversary, but....No!!

So yesterday we had the kiddles for a few hours as my son and daughter in law got stuck at work. That was fun and exhausting. Harry is like an octopus, he is into everything and so fast. Charlotte had fun dancing with us, and made us an anniversary banner.

So that was the best. Except my husband has now been to the store to get stuff to cook for dinner, and is cooking it. He also came home with flowers. I might keep him...

Our daughters bought us cards and chocolates.....and our son left our card at his house.

Later that evening I had really bad stomach upset, which triggered a migraine.
Still crook....

NOT too late to tick to "attend" this virtual event.
Doesnt matter where you are in the world, if you have, or know someone who has migraine (like me) please show support. No travel, no money, just a tick in a box.
Thank YOU.

Having followers.

It's great to know people read your blog. Makes it a bit more worthwhile updating it. I dont have many, but they are very welcome.

However, as I often speak about and post pictures of the kids,I do like to know who is looking.

Of course it's an open Blog so anyone can stop by, but if you are not known to me and decide to be a follower:

1st: Thank you for your interest.
2nd: Would you be kind enough to send a short message just saying who you are and what interested you about my blog please?

I have asked a couple of people whom I dont know, but have yet to hear from them.
So please, if this is you. Do send a message.

Not got anything worthwhile to post right now except.
Is it ever going to stop raining?
Great we had all that sunshine, but then lots of humidity, which screwed up my head. Now rain. Everyday at some point it rains.
Why cant it just rain overnight. Say between about 2am and 6am.
Wouldn't that be good????

Spending time with the kids

Got my camera out for once. They are both quite willing subjects.
Harry stops and smiles when he sees the camera.
He's been doing it since he turned 6 months.
What a ham.....

Sunday with the Kiddles

We spent a little time with the Grand kids the last two week ends.
Charlotte went with Aunty Laura and Daddy to see Shrek in 3D.
Jo and I took care of Harry with some help from Grand dad.
I took quite a few photos of Harry, but only managed one of Charlotte.

This week end we went to them, and it was Laura's turn to be the happy snapper.
We shared the news that Jo and Laura are both now qualified assessors with their brother and wife.
Well done to them both.

Harry has a 5th tooth and is so ready to walk. I think he might walk at 10 months like his Daddy did.
He is a real little buster, all boy. And really a very happy Harry.

HAPPY 4th

Just wanted to wish a Happy Independence Day to  my American readers.....both of you...Ha!!

I loved being there for the 4th many years ago. I loved the picnics and the Stadium of Fire show.
It was so hot on those bleachers....

We used to get base picnics here in the UK, but all our local bases closed. Miss them too.

Anyway have a great day y'all
